Make a Powerful Difference contest
ends April 21st. This is powerful people, you have got to go to the the website http://clorox.promo.eprize.com/powerfuldifferencecontest/ and read the stories and cast your vote. I was so conflicted on who to vote for as there are so many great causes and you wish all of them could win.
The contest is sponsored by Pine-Sol and gives $10,000 to the winner for them to continue in their non-profit efforts; whether it is running a kitchen for homeless children or Helping Girls Pursue Science & Math Careers in Ohio or helping rebuild what has been torn apart one woman at a time or helping grandparents who are raising their grandchildren, and the other options are just as great.
You can vote daily and as only 2 days are left that is so easy. Pass it on please!
Cleaning for a Reason
This is an awesome service and wanted to get the word out spread to any and all.
If you know any woman currently undergoing Chemo, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that
provides FREE housecleaning – 1 time per month for 4 months while she is in treatment.
All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service.

Please pass this information on to bless a woman going through Cancer treatment. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 610 partners in the US and Canada to help these women. Let’s pass along the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.
Fight For Preemies…
As a mom of 3 children I reflect on how blessed I am to have three healthy children, after three interesting pregnancies and deliveries. Technically, my last child was pre-term he was born at 36 weeks a week earlier than the scheduled c-section.
I am a sucker for babies. I just love them. I just oooh and aaaahhh over them. I never thought of my child not making it. As I sit here surrounded my three angels I can only imagine what other mothers go through with a premature infant. While I cannot speak to having a NICU experience I will just talk about how my baby with his simple complication brings me to tears.
I remember feeling very stressed while I was in the hospital. I think of the planning we had done, to have it all stripped away. I think of the deals we had found, to have them too big. I think of sitting there wanting to hold my son when he needs to be under the blue light. I think of wanting my hubby there and he had to be somewhere else.
Thinking about his birth reminds me of a few things. Clothing can be rather difficult to find for a preemie. You can’t let your child be seen in clothes that dwarf them, can you? And who has the time to just tailor the larger sizes until baby needs that much room. I mean I just had a baby all I wanted to do was hold them and sleep sometimes, at the same time. Sometimes one of the complications of being a preemie is inability to latch on when breastfeeding. We ( actually hubby as I was in the hospital) had to buy another car seat while I was in the hospital. The one we had bought would not support him as he was smaller than planned. ETC.
We need to fight because babies should not have to.
What options are there?
Volunteer when you know someone you know has a premature child. Take some food over, well past the first month go into the 3rd and 4th month. Volunteer to run errands for them or pick up their other children from school. Let the kids sleep over so mom and dad can decompress without the children around. If they want you to keep them company while they sit in the waiting room stop by for 30 minutes or so. Take a picnic basket with Mc Donalds or something in it for the Parents.
